the 'if's and 'should's

this afternoon, i realised i should have studied more seriously at the very start instead of doing so 2 days before CTs.
this afternoon, i realised i should have played less and studied more.
this afternoon, i realised i should have managed my time more effectively.
this afternoon, i realised i should...

if i had spent more time studying and less time blogging/playing/chatting/etc... would i have...?
if i had slept more and wasted less time, would i have...?
if i had allocated my time better, would i have...?
if i had...

haha i would think that many students are now suddenly 'enlightened' by the fact that time is running out and that there isn't really much time left to study. in fact, the last day before the exams should be spent in a relaxed fashion where some light revision can be done. but of course, that's the perfect situation. for imperfect people like me, the most we can do now is to salvage what's left, and begin the series of what i would coin the '4 by 100m relay'.

so... what's this interesting '4 by 100m relay' thingy? lol basically right now, we begin to start pumping as much information as we can into our brains for the test that is one day before - which, in our case, is econs. we start to study hard and fast without stop in the hopes of remembering sufficient knowledge to do well in the test. and this is the 'sprinting' stage, where we athletes(muggers) pump oxygen(info) fast and furiously, channeling it to the muscles(brain) needed to run fast(score well) in the race(test).

the next stage - passing on. at the end of every 100m(test), we pass the baton on to the next athlete who will shall commence the next quarter of the race. and here we realised something... different.

as the next athlete turn around to receive the baton, what we see surprised us.
he looks exactly like me.

that's right! in this crazy race of sprint mugging towards the end line(thursday), there is no stop, no breaks, no respite, no one to receive the baton. you are the only one carrying the baton and shall do so till the end. and it will exact a heavy toll on your body. in the end, everything boils down to one's perseverance. can you endure the hardship and the strain?
at the end of the relay, would you be first to cross the line? or would you come out last?

haha ok that's the end of my lame analogy, the '4 by 100m relay' in relation to last-minute studying. what i truly believe is that we shouldn't allow our minds to surrender to the tyranny of the 'should's and 'if's. what has been done, has been done. look forward towards the end line and don't look back at your regrets and disappointments. there is no point living in the past when the future's so bright! =)

lol. it's the same for living our wonderful lives. each and every one of us is given a life so fullllll of potential! if we could only find out where we can channel our energies into and utilize our fullest potential, we would realise how powerful every individual actually is.

nice. i dunno how my initial strand of thoughts about mugging has managed to digresse to life. haha anyway mugging is tiring. so i better sleep early.

OH WAIT! i just saw an intriguing msn nick!
a couple that smokes together, dies together.
wow. xD
