Life’s much too short to toil under the heavy yoke of perfectionism. Know and accept your true feelings and needs and let go the pressure of living up to others’ expectations of you and your life.

decisions are what make us who we are. every decision we've made in our lives has, in some ways, affected change in us. when we used to be young, the decision to use our savings to buy a rose for our mums instead of spending them on sweets reflects the thoughtfulness and sweetness that are inherent in our nature. when we grow older, the decision to keep a promise instead of breaking it, to uphold a belief and stand by it when everyone is indifferent to it, speaks of a steadfast and strong character.
every decision, no matter how big or small one may deem it to be, is like a trickle of water that flows from a stream of consciousness that lie within us. should we choose to do the wrong thing even when we know it is wrong, this trickle of water will turn murky and polluted. and this trickle of water eventually returns to the sea that harbours our stream of consciousness. it will affect us, definitely, and nothing can ever change it back to the pure, undiluted source it used to be - no matter how many 'good' decisions we make.
what we can do instead is to isolate this dark waters, and never let it have the opportunity to contaminate and spread its influence. more importantly, we recognise that we have made a wrong decision. and will never do it again.
when we choose to do the right thing, the waters that are washed back are clear and green, transparent and sparkling. it refreshes the soul as much as it brings joy to ourselves when we recognise the joy we bring to others through our right decisions.
and more often than not, doing the right thing is harder than doing something wrong.
eventually, every decision stems from us. no matter how heavy a role the environment or external influence plays, we give the final green light to ourselves in doing anything and everything.
i wonder.
and wonder.
if love is a decision.
