WARNING: SUPER, SUPER LONG NARRATIVE/RAMBLING ON MY SEEMINGLY-EXCITING SCHOOL-LIFE!
read at your own expense! xD
in the wake of campfire and the host of events that cascaded one after another without respite, i half-expected myself to stone and zone through the entire monday of lessons. after all, it was really extremely tiring to run to three places constantly, to check on the updates of the various meetings, and make sure everything was going on well all at the same time, especially after completing the highly exhaustive but fun-packed befrienders' dance. haha my dance partner is rachel and we're quite pro 'cos we managed to complete the dance with only 1 or 2 flaws!
hmm... add to the fact that not a single wink was stolen on that crazy night where we did our last minute preparations for campfire to an already sleep-deprived body, and the result is a guy who was constantly struggling to keep awake, where every blink of the eye could potentially meant dozing off into dreamland. =(
but i'm glad i made it through without collapsing, and for that alone, i'm thankful. grateful to my friends, who specially arranged it such that i won't be given such a heavy workload and allowed me to move around frequently. indebted to their kindness, and especially their understanding. THANKS! (:
and back to monday. today.. was really quite enjoyable. =) ok, maybe the first lesson during maths i was still stoning and trying to shake the lethargy from my body, and second lesson of physics lecture was spent 'warming up'. the subsequent physics tutorial was not bad, and we got back our physics' lecture test! haha 20/25 is not bad i guess, and i think the median mark was around 18-20 for the class. so we spent the rest of the day laughing about our results and claiming that this moment of success surely spelled the certainty of acing the upcoming physics promos. =D lol, quite lame and naive. but fun nonetheless xD
history was pretty interesting. while mr. kung's teaching style may differ greatly from mrs chia in terms of interactivity and dynamism, he made it up by constantly providing comparisons in his notes to help us get the hang of writing essays where the skill to compare and contrast is an essential to any SEA history essay. we must not forget his useful summaries too! yup, and i'm starting to pen my own thoughts and ideas gathered too! hahaha
actually, i think that IS the real point of note-taking. not just mindless copying down of notes, but constantly revising and reviewing them in mind to establish any possible links/relationships, as well as form lots and lots of questions! ok ok, it sounded damn muggerish and lame, but do try it out the next time! i assure you that it makes the lesson MUCH MUCH more interesting and even helps you keep awake! =)
econs was damn fun. not just because everyone seemed to be in the 'laughing' mode, where we cracked lots of jokes and stuff about anyone and everyone else, and nobody even minded. and an epiphany struck me with regards to essay-writing in econs! hahaha i sort of realised that dr. fang was trying to convey to us that the essence of conclusions lie in establishing what the innate assumption of the question is and provide a short but informative anti-thesis to it! yesh, it sounds super confusing, but an alternative way of looking at it is that the conclusion SHOULD NOT repeat any more ideas or provide new arguments, but instead list out alternatives to the hidden assumption. ahhhhh! damn hard to explain. ok ggxx i'm not teacher-material. x_X haha maybe i'll explain it with the example used in today's lesson when i have time. rushing for timeeeeeee!
and today was a super introspective day. like bomb. if my past experience with thinking and gaining new ideas were to be compared to a lake, the musings and perceptions gained today must have been an ocean of sorts.
OK! i think i better go finish up my teachers' day designs and catch up on my work.
hahaha blogging allows for greater organization of the mind.
AND TODAY IS ALYSSA, JEAN AND RAJ'S BDAE! HAPPY BDAE ALL!
RAJ WE SHALL GO SWENSENS WITH SCOUTIES ON WED TO CELEBRATE WHEN EVERYONE'S FREEEEEEEEEEE! ;)
