Every seedling of a flower has the opportunity to bloom into a beautiful flower. All it takes is a little sunlight to light up its path, plenty of water and nutrition to sustain its growth, and a patient gardener to guide the plant through its turbulent trials. In many ways, S. Rajaratnam could be seen as one of the many gardeners who nurtured the then fragile plant Singapore was into the healthy flower it is today. The Garden City, as Singapore is aptly known for, will not be in the flowering state we are in now without S. Rajaratnam’s contributions. 100 words.

Though humor is essentially social, how you use it says a lot about your sense of self. Those who use self-defeating humor, making fun of themselves for the enjoyment of others, tend to maintain that hostility toward themselves even when alone. Similarly, those who are able to view the world with amused tolerance are often equally forgiving of their own shortcomings.
