THE WORLD IS A CIRCUS
the world is a circus,
a world-class performance awaits!
firstly, let me introduce to you,
a funny man whose face isn't real!
mr. clown and his usual smiling mask,
to make the audience laugh and barf!
he can cry and yet still smile for the crowd,
for pain and sorrow his masks always conceal!
secondly, a group of men and women,
walking on the air with practised familiarity!
threading on these fine lines of change,
tightrope walkers pray do keep your balance!
for all you know even after years of experience,
one false step and everything shall unravel!
thirdly, you must surely know these dudes,
they play with balls and play it good!
masters of a trade so fine and pretty,
jugglers they are, hurling objects none too far!
three balls they might still handle,
but juggle no more when we add too many more!
these groups of few and many abound,
they can act and so can they perform!
perfecting every stroke to the smallest detail,
accentuating the false till it blends into truth!
the world is a circus,
put on your costumes and act your part!
