fairytales. cinderella. sleeping beauty. prince charming. at one point or another of our life, we would have imagined ourselves to be living in these mythical lands, assuming the roles of surreal characters, leading a crazy life which would eventually turn out to be a happy ending.
sometimes, we forget the villains and tragedies that remain a much forgotten but quintessential part of fairytales. they are the actual ingredients which make the ending so sweet and heartwarming, for what do we know about joy when there is no grief?
and we all know that no matter how arduous the task maybe, or how terrible the tragedy that has befallen on these fictitious characters that lead such a charmed life, everything will eventually turn out to be good.
so, what of our lives?
if fairytales already have their fair share of pain and anguish, villainous and disastrous incidents, what more our ordinary lives?
definitely, we will experience even more unfortunate events and suffer uncountable heartbreaking moments. sometimes, we can't even be sure that these is a silver lining behind these dark clouds. in fact, even after all the ills have escaped out of the pandora box, will we even find hope?
such uncertainty. such profound sadness.
but one thing for sure - if we let ourselves submit to our cruel fates, we will never get out of the quagmire life has mercilessly dragged our bodies into.
so, hope! even when no hope is found, continue hoping! for we control our destinies. we can let our emotions overwhelm ourselves, or we can manipulate the negatives into the positives.
and the key to unlocking our burdened hearts is to love and to hope.
for love makes life beautiful, and hope makes life colourful.
love to hope, and hope to love.
