the world is round

Everyone lives in the same world, yet we lead such different and disparate lives.
We can experience the same things, and yet allow them to affect us differently.
We can drink the same Coke only to find that it tastes different for each of us.
We can breathe the same air, yet some can predict coming storms while others die in their cars.
We can have the same religion, and yet find different interpretations that invoke war and conflict.
We can do the same actions, but each of us can get different responses.
We can share the same pains, but some can get through them and some don't.
We can see the colours only to realise some can only see vestiges of the spectrum.

The world is round.
Where there is luxury, there is also hunger.
Where there are surpluses, there are also shortages.
Where there is joy, there is also sadness.
Where there are the blessed, there are also the wretched.
Where there is pain, there is also pleasure.
Where there are diseases, there are also cures.
Where there is slack, there is also stress.

And so, I'm reaping what I have sowed.
The seeds of complacency has blossomed into crops of unreadiness.
Where there used to be a month, there is but a day left.

But along the way, I found new directions.
