You send a stone hurtling towards the pond, and a series of waves reverberate from the source towards the bank. Your myopic vision shows you how time has eroded all traces of the stone's trajectory incident upon the pond.
But just as you think the past is over, tiny ripples flutter back to the present from their visit to the bank. These little fluctuations, they serve as timely reminders of how the past often reinforces itself on the present, either directly or indirectly.
You look at the reflections on the pond, and they reveal a constructed reality of your desires. But a constructed reality is, alas, ultimately an illusion, an unreal experience.
