Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

If you have some time to spare, do take a look at this site. The various photos on the site present a touching, yet sad, yet heartwarming portrait of children suffering from cancer and the love they receive from their families and the people around who may not even know them personally. Here's a photo from the site:

"You're gonna be brave, right?" "Right." Diana, age 5, and her father share a moment before she receives her weekly dose of chemotherapy through a port in her chest, January 10, 2007. Diana has Wilm's Tumor, a cancer of the kidney that typically occurs in children. (© Kendrick Brinson)

I think if I were a doctor, I would aspire to find a cure for cancer. But I guess my destiny lies away from the medical domain and more towards business/psychology/philosophy ones. Still haven't made up my mind about it, though PPE does interest me a great lot. The problem though is that majoring in such a combination would most probably find myself working in the government sector, and I haven't decided whether or not that suits me. I want to be absolutely sure of it so that I can really be fully committed to it. And so I shall continue pondering about it.

Anyway, my houseD and I are having a retarded conversation about the pros and cons of driving xD haha it's more like Nick vs Giraffe and Shihua while the rest watch on as 'neutral' commentators (not very neutral all the time though). I think driving is over-rated!

If you can drive, you're gonna miss out on
... the long nice rides back home where you can ruminate
... the nice long rides back home where you can catch up with friends
... the opportunity to breathe some fresh air while walking home (instead you're making others breathe exhaust! tsk tsk)
... the chance to get a good work out (walking is the best way to lose fats, seriously)
... the knowledge of changes to your surroundings (if you drive, you'll be too focused on driving and won't be looking at your surroundings)
... the novel experience of reading books/listening music on buses and MRTs
... being a true green Singaporean!

SEE? So many advantages to NOT driving, advantages that we are usually blind to against the popular consensus that driving IS good.
