All chameleon species are able to change their skin colour. Changing colour is an expression of the physical and psychological condition of the lizard, not, as is commonly believed, to match their surroundings. The colour also plays a part in communication.
Chameleons change their colour in response to light exposure and ambient temperature, as well as to express their mood. Emotions and attraction of a mate can induce the colour change.
Different chameleon species are able to change different colours which can include pink, blue, red, orange, green, black, brown and yellow. Chameleons are naturally coloured for their surroundings as a camouflage. However, recent research has indicated that Chameleons may use colour changes as a method of communication, including to make themselves more attractive to potential mates.

Last night while lying in my bed, I suddenly thought of an idea of starting a shared blog with friends (after As, of course) entitled The Chameleon. Our mascot will then be the chameleon, with our slogan being Change Yourself To Change The World. Contributors can write about anything that interests them, as long as it is an idea that will benefit others in the way they perceive the world.
What is the purpose of the blog then? Well, the main agenda of it will be to invoke constructive change in society. Subscribing to the notion of the butterfly effect, where a small and seemingly insignificant change can result in unforeseen magnified consequences, I believe that if we wish to effect massive changes to a system, we must first start from within the system.
This can be done by inflecting the mindsets of friends around to become more accepting of new ideas and configurations, and thus be indoctrinated into a new and dynamic matrix for thought and processes in the new world order. Great changes do not come about by altering the tangible processes and institutions we see around us. Great changes come about through the intangible medium of attitudes, mindsets and perceptions. Hence, change must come through the latter, with the former acting in a supporting role.
Therefore, armed with the most powerful weapon known to Mankind, that of influential rhetoric, as well as a willingness and commitment to constructive change, we can all do our part to make the world a better place!
Wonder if it will work out, but in any case, this will have to be put on hold till As are over. haha and when I think of who I would like to work with on this mini-project, two names come to mind immediately: Hu Ching and Royce, amazing individuals equipped with their own unique set of qualities. I have enjoyed working with them immensely in the past. More importantly though, they have both displayed a spirit of zest and enthusiasm towards the things they do and causes they believe in.
The Chameleon - Change Yourself to Change the World.
haha sounds pretty cool (:
