There are the enjoyable moments, and there are the memorable moments. They could be the same, or they could be separate, but often, we find that they are misunderstood for one another.
Some moments are so enjoyable that you feel so light-hearted for the rest of the day, and when you smile (at something or at anything), you can see the light reaching your eyes. You can even feel a heart-warming feeling coursing through your body as you savour the moment spent with comfortable friends.
You may not remember these moments as they may be insignificant - it could be a little chat with a good friend, having fun with great company, or simply sitting in silence with an old pal as you enjoy the moment together.
However, even as memories lapse, the feelings that you experience during these moments will always occupy a part of your heart where treasured things are safely placed. And everytime you experience another enjoyable moment, the past and present interferes to produce shared resonance that multiplies this feeling.
Some moments are so memorable that you can still remember them even after many years down the road, and even when you have lost touch with the people involved. When you think about these moments, you feel special and glad that you are able to be part of it.
They are the so-called 'major' events that have occured, and for me, they include BB's comeback from the dead to secure a tied victory with BW last year (or more specifically, the day of National Day Celebrations), Highlights (the fire-burning, the batch project, the lorry ride etc...), the lanning cum stayover at Royce's (to cap off a successful class outing), the insane/physical/painful/testing Batch Dynamics with the scouties, and many, many others.
These moments are special. They are unique because you will never get a chance to experience them any more in your lifetime, and that's why you treasure them so. It parallels with the enjoyable moments in the sense that the memories of these moments are also stored in that secret treasured corner of your heart, yet it is also different in that the former retains the feelings of the moment whereas the latter keeps the memories of the moment.
Enjoyable moments. Memorable moments. An experience can be both enjoyable and memorable. It can be enjoyable, yet unmemorable. It can be memorable, and yet not really that enjoyable. Moments. Perhaps what truly differentiates one from the other are the company and the timing (:
