I have decided that paragraphs of descriptive texts won't serve well as an introduction. A picture may paint a thousand words, but a thousand words can coalesce into infinite possibilities as unique individuals construe them into varying contexts through lenses tinted by different life experiences. Perhaps where threads of rhetoric may fail, an embroidery of facts about myself might prove to be more useful. Hence, here are 25 random facts about me.
1. I love apples (:
2. '2' is my favouritest number among my favourite numbers.
3. My password for important stuff is nine-years-old (meaning started from P5), and if you ever find out what it is, you'd definitely say "it's damn random!', or something like that.
4. I have 3 other siblings and I'm the eldest. haha I just realize that our age differences are consecutive squared numbers! I'm 18, my sister is 17, my brother is 14, and my youngest sister is 9. So, it's 1, 4, and 9!
5. I really believe in fairytales and happy endings :D
6. I keep all the letters and gifts that I have received since Primary School in a cupboard.
7. I can't imagine what my life would be, and how I would turn out to be, if I had never met the Scouts and the 27ths.
8. I support the best team in the world, MAN U!
9. I think MSN conversations can be as interesting as phone calls and face-to-face chats, but it depends on the person you're talking to. (and I don't really like talking to people who takes damn long to reply or ends convos abruptly)
10. I procrastinate like mad.
11. I used to think girls are weird. Now, I think they are very weird. But mostly in a nice way (:
12. I like to invent theories and come up with analogies on life, love and the universe, and share them with friends. But I reserve some for only my closest friends.
13. I've always wanted to write a complete Harry Potter/Naruto fanfiction. haha but I always stop writing after the first few chapters.
14. I am actually quite a proud person, so I hate it when people deride my works without rhyme or reason.
15. I guess I'm more emotional/sentimental than the average guy.
16. Sometimes when I smile, I'm actually feeling quite upset or angry. But I don't show it until nobody's around.
17. I think the only way to truly know a person is to find out what he/she gets angry at.
18. There are times when I wish I could go back in time and change some things in the past... but somehow, I have a feeling that if I ever did that, I would lose an important part of myself.
19. I believe that a higher being exists, but I'm not convinced that it's the God that various religions worship. Scripture says that God made Man in His image, but I really think Man made God in our image.
20. Sometimes, I think of myself as a puzzle, labyrinth, conundrum... and that I'm just waiting for a person to come unravel the code that I am. In fact, there are times when I do things that subscribe to a particular pattern, and I secretly wish that it will be discovered by someone.
21. I think I'm a very hard person to get to know and understand because I am actually quite reserved and like to be cryptic. So I'm glad to have so many good friends (:

23. I like the feeling that you get when you have just woken up from an accidental nap. There are still traces of fatigue, but there's also this wonderful sense of refreshment.
24. I still believe in soulmates and true love, but I think fate and chance play a lesser role than we often accredit them for.
25. I like celebrating important milestones, like birthdays of friends or special occasions, because I think everyone needs to be reminded of how special they really are from time to time.
Or if you prefer the traditional form of introduction... I'm Nicholas Tong Wei Jie, born on 20th February 1990. I have studied at Maha Bodhi Primary School, Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College. I hope to pursue Law (in UK/SG) or International Relations (in US). My hobbies are constantly evolving, though there are two consistent ones, and they are reading and writing. I love Singapore and I will never emigrate.
