emo

in today's world, emo-ing has become so prevalent and widespread that not conforming to this societal trend is to be different from the masses. but so often is this word associated with grief and pessimism that it has taken on negative connotations. and contrary to such popular beliefs, there are different kinds of emo - bonding emo, thinking emo, fun emo, sad emo, suicidal emo, etc... haha yea i think you get the point. basically, i think 'emo' essentially means giving your emotions free rein over your thoughts.

sad emo
we reach for our inner sanctuary, the abode of our emotions, to seek comfort and tranquility when things don't seem to be going our way. it's when the tinted window from which we view the world has been rocketed by events, and we can no longer bear to look through these shattered shards of idealism and optimism. thus, we retreat, drawing our emotions away from the turbulent environment and cocooning ourselves, wishing that time will really heal all wounds. we think and imagine, of what could have been and what should have been, tormenting ourselves needlessly with hopeful fantasies. eventually, we have to resign to our sad fates. and we begin the reconstruction of our lives, reconciling ourselves to the fact that some things can never be changed. and that's how life works.

bonding emo

if you are lucky, life will bestow you with friends whom you can relate to, friends who sometimes know you better than you know yourself, friends who can laugh and cry with you, friends who will sing and talk to you. and sometimes, you find that you need someone to turn to, when stress gets to you or when life is too unkind to you. we can talk, we can laugh, and we can sing - of sad songs, of love songs, of emotional songs. and we release our worries in their presence, immersing ourselves into the saturated atmosphere of love and comfort, of friendship and bliss. we may be sad, but we get through our melancholy together. and so, we bond.

it's not always bad to emo.
so emo! and emo all you like.

just don't overdo it.

your laughter is the melody of my song.
