PROM

haha actually I was feeling quite nonchalant about it just this afternoon. But friends started talking to me about the exciting details quintessential of Prom, and it started getting me excited too! I was wondering how the thought of Prom could reduce friends to giggles and gibberish that makes no sense, but after going through the 'indoctrination', I slowly became conditioned to all this fluffiness in the air.

On the whole, us guys are less excited than our female counterparts. haha that's why I always said Proms are really just a guise for girls to parade themselves in beautiful dresses and have lots of fun pretending that for a moment reality has meshed with their ideals, which has its roots in the Cinderella-esque stories we used to read when we are young!

There's also the anticipation of spotting 'secret' couples later today, and Lynette even kept a tally of it. haha actually, it's less of a tally than a countdown. I think she's just using it as an excuse, since she said she'll get attached if she could find 10 new couples. DAMN SNEAKY.

Oh, and I'll get a chance to 'cure' this messiness in my hair tomorrow! haha hope it won't end up quirky >< Ahh, and I realize I haven't seen my friends in a long time! Discounting those trips to the airport to send/receive the OComm, I haven't really spoken to my favourite bunch of councillors since... erm, post-As? Can't recall. I actually kinda missed those crazy days in the council room where we can randomly start talking for hours non-stop, of life, love, and the universe, do whacky stuff like filming talk-shows, and the many other random moments that make studying more tolerable.

And to see things in perspective, tomorrow's also the last ever school function I'll be attending as a member of the RJC Batch of 2008! hmm. oh well, don't know what to feel of it. It's sort of ambivalent, my feelings of it. Prom is definitely a happy occasion, I mean, it's a ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME occasion man!

But it is also the last time where we will see those acquaintances whom we often chance along the corridors in the past two years. It is the last time that we will be greeting some friends, for it marks the season of drifting. It is also the last time for us to create lasting memories - chapters of our lives where we will look back and reminiscence, as the little bundles of joy, heartache, laughter and other emotions flood our memory banks.

Prom is the beginning of the end of our school term; yet it is also the end of a beginning that all of us made possible two years ago. But in any case, I can't wait :D
