dota

is a game that i've played for a long, long time. it started when i was introduced by andre to it at the end of sec2. and since then i've been playing it till now. when you play a game with a team, be it sports or aesthetics, you inevitably forge bonds with these people. looking back, i realised that i've made quite a few friends through dota i.e. rold, yihan, kai, nigel etc...

sports and games have this amazing ability to allow people to connect and clique, despite apparent differences at times. sometimes, i regret uninstalling the game. but i know that to fulfill my many responsibilities in class, in council, in scouts, sacrifices have to be made.

haha, but that doesn't mean i can't reminiscence about the past! xD i think one of the best experiences i have of dota was taking part in ihc dota competition. lol, although i've often jokingly ego-ed that i was the mvp in the team, i hope that my teammates know that without anyone of us, our success wouldn't have been possible.

and while winning the dota competition and overall getting 2nd for ihc cybergaming may seem insignificant to many, i think many people didn't realise that the bb dota team was underdogs almost all the way, except for the first game against hh. and those who believe that high expectations of a team to win may exert greater pressure as compared to being the underdogs, i think they don't really understand the derogatory impact it has being the underdogs.

alright, overview time -
hh - game inspired confidence in the team as it was our first success as a makeshift team together
mr - tough game. they were the best j1 team if one were to look at the composition of their members. however, we were lucky as they drafted the same heroes as their previous match, which did not have counters against our heroes.
bw - another team which people thought would win as they had a strong team. i felt that it was the toughest game we played during the competition. both teams were fairly matched during the game, and our bb team only managed to make a breakthrough after half an hour, after which the game went on pretty smoothly.
bw - finals. i think the j2s underestimated us a lot. but in the end, we still managed to emerge victorious. it was tough, but not as tough as the previous match.

haha, and so that was sort of the highlights of the competition. yujun, andre, xianjie, stanley, we rawked! =) mm dunno what inspired this random bout of reminiscence.. maybe i'm just missing the fun i had with everyone. xD
