it makes me think back of the many braiding done by girls since a long, long time ago. in the past, i didn't appreciate the efforts they take to weave such an intricate and beautiful pattern into their hair. i've always thought of it as something mundane and common, something that all girls should know and would do.
yet, i failed to realise that behind this seemingly-simple yet complex facade lies a hidden form of art, and some may even go as far to say that it's a tradition. it makes me regret the times i (be it in a teasing manner or not) tell girls that their braids are not so nice. these three words, they seem so simple, but they could undermine all the efforts girls painstakingly take to do up the braid.
not everything should be judged at face value. sometimes, perhaps we shld look deeper and recognise the hardwork gone into making things work. sometimes, we shld appreciate people for trying out the process, not be critical of the end product. sometimes, we shldn't be so superficial.
haha, it somehow reminds me of my scouting days, when we spent days tying ocean plait. it's somewhat similar to hair-plaits/braids. what started out as a trying process eventually culminates into a beautiful knot. girls take time and effort to knot their hair up in a unique fashion, and the intrinsic purpose behind it is of course to look prettier. next time, as guys, we shld drop a compliment or two to these girls, and let them know that their hardwork haven't been gone unnoticed.
on a diff note, i now love The Reason Why by The Click Five!!!
veryyyyyyyyyyyyy nice! the click five rocks. i think i'll get their latest album. =)
