i think it was just my lack of sleep coupled with my prevailing flu and cough that made me so sad. hehe but it's better now!

anyway, life is certainly interesting! we often find many insightful analogies to relate back to our daily lives, using these signs around us to convey positive and encouraging messages. why are we able to find them in such abundance? is it simply because of our human intellect and ability to perceive things and construct them in varying fashions to suit our needs? after all, many controversial issues arise because of a difference in mindset and perception, with ostensible examples being torture, abortion and euthanasia.

but i do not think so. i think there is purpose and intention inherent in our daily seemingly-mundane articles of life, waiting patiently for us to find it, 'to see with new eyes' as mark twain puts it. for example, let us just take a look at a cookie. an ordinary cookie. nothing special about it. it's just one of a million, perhaps even more, of the same product. but it can provide such thought-provoking ideas.

my original interpretation was that life is like a cookie as we will always leave crumbs behind. these crumbs, however, vary. if we are careful, perhaps we won't leave behind any. if we are careless, we could potentially leave a mess behind. but whatever it is, we have a choice. and life is about choices.

yet, on hindsight, i have a different interpretation of it now. life is like a cookie. there are many ways we can eat it, but eventually, we will still have to finish it. so eat it in an exciting manner, thrilling fashion! nibble it, bite it, chew on it! live life the way it should be - fun and productive, interesting and optimistic!
